George Wassouf est un chanteur syrien notable. Il est né le 23 décembre, 1961, il s'est déplacé à Beyrouth à un jeune âge, et s'est appelé l'enfant miraculeux à ce moment-là, pour son talent artistique dans le chant.
George Wassouf commencé chanter très à jeunes à l'âge de 10 années à sa ville natale Kafroun que conséquent Al Helou de Mashta dans Tartous, en Syrie à différentes occasions telles que des mariages, des parties, des hôtels, etc. Sous peu ensuite il s'est déplacé au Liban où il a commencé à chanter et sa popularité s'est développée. Elle était à l'âge de 16 années quand il est devenu notoire en tant que « EL-Tarab de sultan » comme appelé par l'acteur international célèbre Omar Sharif, arabe pour « le sultan du chant », avec sa chanson classique « sultan d'EL-Hawa ».
