Commissaire de Police devenu Préfet, Robert Broussard est né le 24 avril 1936 à Aulnay-de-Saintonge en Charente-Maritime. Il participe à la résolution de certaines affaires les plus importantes des années 1970 : l'assassinat de Jean de Broglie, l'enlévement du Baron Empain, la prise d'otages de l'ambassade d'Irak à Paris et la lutte contre les réseaux de la French Connection. Il est considéré comme un "Super-Flic".
Mais Robert Broussard reste essentiellement célèbre pour avoir mis fin à la dernière cavale de Jacques Mesrine, l'ennemi public n° 1, abattu le 2 novembre 1979 à la Porte de Clignancourt, à Paris alors qu'il était au volant de sa BMW.
Fils de cheminot de Charente, plus intéressé par le clairon, le rugby et l'ébénisterie, il eu la vocation policiére par accident. C'est en sauvant une personne des eaux glacées du canal Saint-Martin qu'il fait la connaissance d'un vieux bri...
