Actrice et Artiste ( Américaine) Nommée d’après le dieu de la foudre, Thora Birch a très tôt été encouragée à poursuivre une carrière d’actrice. Se présentant au début uniquement sur son prénom, Thora réussit à participer à quelques publicités et sitcoms pour la télévision. Elle apparait dès 6 ans dans le show TV Day by Day dans le personnage de Molly. Ce petit rôle lui ouvre immédiatement les portes du Cinéma avec le film de science-fiction The Purple People Eater pour lequel elle reçoit son premier prix d’interprétation aux Young Artist Awards.
Après un retour télé en 1990 dans la série Parenthood aux cotés de jeunes débutants comme Léonardo di Caprio ou David Arquette, Thora Birch enchaine les films au cinéma en reprenant son nom complet.
