Acteur et Artiste ( Américain) Né le 31 avril 1928Décédé le 18 novembre 2002 (à l'âge de 74 ans) James Coburn était un acteur américain.
Il naquit le 31 août 1928 à Laurel, dans le Nebraska et décéda d'un arrêt cardiaque le 18 novembre 2002 au Cedar Sinaï Hospital de Los Angeles, Californie.
Il fut une inoubliable « présence » de l'écran, à la fois désinvolte et charismatique.
Il restera à jamais dans la mémoire des cinéphiles en tant qu'acteur fétiche de Sam Peckinpah avec des rôles mémorables comme dans Major Dundee, Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid (le rôle de sa vie) et Cross of Iron.
Son rôle le plus populaire (qui le figera dans une sorte d'inconscient collectif) sera celui du révolutionnaire dynamiteur John Mallory dans le magnifique Il était une fois la révolution de Sergio Leone en 1971.
Il tourne dans Les Sept Mercenaires en 1960 et participa à La Grande Évasion en 1963 avec son grand ami Steve McQueen.
