« Dimebag » Darrell Abbott (20 août 1966 – 8 décembre 2004) (aussi connu sous le nom de Diamond Darrell) fut le guitariste du groupe de groove metal Pantera. Son père, musicien de musique country, possédait son propre studio où Darrel et son frère regardaient des bluesmen jouer. Cette influence précoce a marqué le registre musical de Pantera, malgré l'orientation très dure de leur son.
Darrel participe très jeune à des compétitions de guitare organisées par Dean dans sa ville natale de Dallas au Texas. À 16 ans, il fut même écarté de la participation, l'ayant trop souvent remportée. C'est grâce aux prix gagnés dans ces compétitions - notamment la guitare devenue depuis sa signature - que put être fondé Pantera.
