Artiste, Chanteur, Dessinateur, Graffeur et Musicien ( Américain) Joseph Antonio Cartagena alias Fat Joe (ou Joey Crack, Coca, parmi ses nombreux pseudonymes) est un rappeur et un graffeur américain, né le 19 août 1970 dans le quartier du Bronx à New York.
Il grandit dans une famille originaire de Cuba et Porto Rico, c'est en suivant son grand frère Angel, fan de la Zulu Nation d'Afrika Bambaataa, que Fat Joe a commencé à s'intéresser à la culture hip-hop.
Son premier album intitulé Represent est sorti en 1993. Fat Joe est à cette époque affilié à KRS-One, et l'album reçoit un accueil bienveillant par la communauté hip-hop new-yorkaise. Plus tard, le single Flow Joe, classé 1er des charts US, assure à l'album un succès mondial. À la suite de ces évènements, Fat Joe prend le pseudonyme de Fat Joe Da Gangsta.
