Né en 1966 dans le comté d'Orange en Californie, Jeff Buckley a émergé sur la scène avant-gardiste de New York dans les années 90 comme l'un des musiciens les plus remarquables de sa génération. Son premier enregistrement (le 4 titres Live at Sin-e) a été enregistré en décembre 1993. (Columbia Records pour les Etats-Unis et Big Cat Records pour l'Europe.
