Artiste, Bassiste et Musicien ( Américain) Né le 10 février 1962Décédé le 27 septembre 1986 (à l'âge de 24 ans) Clifford Lee Burton (10 février 1962 – 27 septembre 1986) fut le second bassiste de Metallica. Il rejoignit le groupe fin 1982. Il fut et est toujours considéré comme l'un des plus grands bassistes de l'histoire du heavy metal. Sa vie et sa fin tragique ont inspiré au moins deux chansons (voir à la fin de l'article).
Burton est né à Castro Valley, en Californie. Ayant des parents hippies, il a beaucoup été influencé par ce mouvement (il portait toujours des pantalons à « pattes d'éléphants ») et par divers artistes de jazz ou de blues : il a commencé à jouer au piano à six ans et ce n'est qu'adolescent qu'il commença à jouer de la basse. Il fit partie de plusieurs groupes californiens.
