Charles Samuel Addams, né le 7 janvier 1912 à Westfield (New Jersey) (en) et mort le 29 septembre 1988 était un auteur américain de bande dessinée, connu pour son humour noir et ses personnages macabres.
Il est notamment l'auteur de La Famille Addams, de trois films, d'une comédie musicale de Broadway et de quatre séries télévisées dont deux animées.
Le 7 janvier 2012, à l'occasion du centième anniversaire de l'artiste, Google crée un Doodle personnalisé aux couleurs de son univers afin de lui rendre hommage.
Addams a dessiné plus de 1 300 cartoons durant sa vie, la plupart étant publiés dans le New Yorker.
