Patrick Joseph Cowley (19 octobre 1950 - 12 novembre 1982), compositeur, producteur, interprète de musique Disco et précurseur de la Hi-NRG.
Né à Buffalo, il a grandi dans le nord de New-York, Horseheads et Corning, avec ses frère et sœurs, James, Mariellen et Madonna, et avec son grand-père qui se nommait Bernard Cowley. Son père, Kenneth Cowley, est décédé en janvier 2005 à 85 ans tandis que sa mère, Ellen, disparut 13 mois après la mort de son fils en décembre 1983.
Il étudia au lycée de Buffalo où il jouait de la batterie, du clavier et de la guitare dans des petits groupes locaux. Il jouait essentiellement d'oreille des chansons simples. Ses parents le supportaient dans ses rêves de musique, la batterie était installée dans le garage, au sous-sol.
