Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, né le 23 novembre 1926 et mort le 24 avril 2011 à Puttaparthi, dans la région de l'Andhra Pradesh en Inde, communément appelé Sai Baba, est un guru qui se présente comme un avatar (incarnation d'une divinité hindoue), capable d'accomplir de nombreux miracles (apparition de divers objets et de la « cendre sacrée » etc.).
Sa popularité est rapidement devenue très importante en Inde, où il est considéré comme un « dieu vivant », puis dans le monde. Son organisation possédait dans les années 1980, entre 1200 et 10 000 centres dans 114 pays. Le nombre d'adeptes est officiellement estimé à environ 6 millions bien que d'autres chiffres indiquent qu'ils pourraient être entre 30 et 100 Millions.
