Dan Blocker est un acteur américain né le 10 décembre 1928 à De Kalb, comté de Bowie (États-Unis), décédé le 13 mai 1972 à Los Angeles (Californie).
Dan Blocker est né en 1928 au Texas. Il a épousé en 1952 sa petite amie de collège, Dolphia Parker. ils ont eu quatre enfants, deux jumelles, Debra et Danna, puis deux fils, Dirk et Dennis.Il a commencé par être professeur.Il doit sa célébrité au rôle qu'il a joué dans la série western télévisée Bonanza (1959-1972), dans laquelle il jouait le rôle du costaud et débonnaire Eric "Hoss" Cartwright.
Dan Blocker est mort en 1972, à l'âge de 44 ans, d'une embolie pulmonaire.
