Francesca Schiavone, née le 23 juin 1980 à Milan, est une joueuse de tennis italienne, professionnelle depuis 1998 sur le circuit WTA. Elle a remporté le tournoi de Roland-Garros en 2010.
Très accrocheuse, puissante, et dotée d'un jeu complet, Francesca Schiavone s'est régulièrement classée parmi les vingt meilleures joueuses du monde entre 2003 et 2010. Il lui a pourtant fallu patienter jusqu'à fin juillet 2007 (après huit finales perdues d'affilée), pour remporter le premier titre en simple de sa carrière à l'Open d'Autriche[1]. En octobre 2009, elle triomphe dans la très relevée Coupe du Kremlin, puis à l'Open d'Espagne en avril 2010.
Elle a été trois fois quart de finaliste en Grand Chelem, en 2001 à Roland-Garros, en 2003 à l'US Open et en 2009 à Wimbledon, respectivement battue par Martina Hingis, Jennifer Capriati et Elena Dementieva. En 2010, elle devient la première Italie...
