Leslie Nielsen est un acteur canadien né le 11 février 1926 à Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada) et mort le 28 novembre 2010 à Fort Lauderdale, (Floride).
Fils d'un officier de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada, Leslie Nielsen étudie à l'Academy of Radio Arts de Toronto puis à la Neighborhood Playhouse de New York. Il fait ses débuts à la télévision dès 1950 et multiplie les apparitions dans les premières grandes séries américaines. Ses premiers pas au cinéma ont lieu au milieu des années 1950. Très rapidement, il décroche l'un des rôles principaux, celui du commandant Adams, de Planète interdite, devenu un classique de la science-fiction. Quelques films suivent mais Leslie Nielsen retourne sur le petit écran.
