Sal Mineo (de son vrai nom Salvatore Mineo Jr.) est un acteur américain né le 10 janvier 1939 dans le Bronx à New York (États-Unis), décédé le 12 février 1976 à West Hollywood (Californie).
Fils d'immigrés italiens de Sicile. Frère de l'acteur Michael Mineo. Arrêté à l'âge de 10 ans pour vol, on lui laisse le choix entre la prison et l'école d'acteurs. On se souvient surtout de son rôle dans, La Fureur de Vivre avec James Dean et Natalie Wood, il n'a alors que 16 ans ! Il débute sur scène dans le rôle du jeune prince dans Le Roi et moi avec Yul Brynner devenu un film par la suite. En 1957 il s'est essayé à une carrière de chanteur de rock 'n' roll. Il a sorti deux titres qui sont restés plusieurs semaines dans le Top 40 américain. On le voit dans Grease pendant la chanson "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee."
